FedEx tracking
In short
FedEx shipments, parcel or FedEx Freight LTL, are tracked on fedex.com with the tracking number or PRO. M³ Tracker connects to the FedEx Track API, which needs a registered FedEx developer app, so the integration is enabled per account on request; until then FedEx loads are tracked by email status requests.
FedEx needs no introduction, but brokers mostly meet it as FedEx Freight, the LTL arm whose PRO numbers show up on cross-border pallets. FedEx’s Track API returns scan events, the latest status and both addresses in one call. Because FedEx requires each integration to use its own developer credentials, M³ Tracker switches the connection on per account.

How do you track a FedEx shipment?
- Find the carrier reference on the bill of lading or the pickup confirmation. Any of these works: FedEx tracking number (12 digits for parcels); FedEx Freight PRO number.
- Open FedEx’s tracking page, enter the reference and read the latest scan.
- Repeat for every load, every day, for every carrier you book with — or let M³ Tracker do it.
How does M³ Tracker track FedEx automatically?
M³ Tracker’s FedEx integration is built and is enabled per account on request, because FedEx only exposes tracking data to credentialed or verified accounts. Until it is switched on for your workspace, FedEx loads are tracked through email status requests, so nothing falls through.
What happens once a load is tracked
- Your team sees every carrier in one dashboard, with the expected delivery date and an alert the moment it slips.
- Your customer gets a live tracking link with no login, and can subscribe to SMS updates from it.
- Status changes are logged with a timestamp, so “where is it?” has an answer before anyone asks.
What do FedEx statuses mean?
FedEx statuses are mapped to M³ Tracker’s own buckets (booked, picked up, in transit, delivered, plus delayed and cancelled when reported), so your dashboard reads the same across carriers. A load is only marked delivered on an explicit delivery status, never on “arrived at terminal”.
